Vermont Meshtastic Community

Resilient, free, and decentralized communication for the Green Mountains.

Green Mountain Mesh is a volunteer-run group building a Meshtastic network across Vermont. We focus on education, collaborative deployments, and partnerships that expand coverage for everyone.

Our purpose

We believe Vermont deserves a resilient, community-owned layer of communication that keeps people connected when infrastructure is limited.

Educate & onboard

We host hands-on sessions for newcomers—covering radios, firmware, antennas, and safe deployment practices.

Strategic placements

We work with landowners and local organizations to place nodes where they can support the widest possible coverage.

Share what we learn

Our blog captures field notes, build recipes, and Vermont-specific deployment insights.

Get involved

Whether you are brand new to Meshtastic or already running nodes, there is a place for you in the mesh.

01

Join a build

We share hardware kits, assemble nodes, and compare antenna setups together.

02

Host a node

Offer a rooftop, barn, or hillside to extend coverage for the community.

03

Report coverage

Share signal maps and real-world performance so we can keep refining placements.
